Army Group Center began its final drive towards Moscow in the fall of 1941. The 21st Tank Brigade, one of the few surviving tank units in the Soviet army, added its strength to the attempt to recapture the town of Kalinin, forming the left flank of the 30th Army. With its own left flank hanging open, the 21st Tank Brigade attempted a spoiling attack on the German 36th Motorized Division, trying to forestall the German offensive by cutting the main road into Kalinin and thus preventing the Germans from supplying their units.
Objectives: Your company will move west and engage the enemy while your platoon and a supporting Recon section follows the road to the northwest and takes the objectives. Your platoon forms the left flank of the company battleline. Remember to use the Commander's Map to locate the marked objectives.
